The month of September is coming to a close and that means that our first art unit is also coming to an end. Throughout the month our students learned about hte different types of lines; such as horizontal, diagonal, and vertical. In addition, students also learned the technique of cross hatching. After learning these techniques students applied them to an array of different activities. For example, 1st, 2nd, and 3rd grades created self portraits. Fourth grade created their own underwater scene. Fifth grade created still lifes and grades 6 through 7 created drawings of the ASL alphabet. While the 8th graders created drawings of trees.
