Parent University Program
KEY Academy proudly presents Parent University; a series of four discussions/workshops related to raising a healthy, well-rounded, happy child. The first Parent University session will be held on Thursday, October 13 at 8:20 am (immediately following morning assembly). The topic of this presentation is “How to Support Your Child’s Learning.” Our Principal, Ms. Maureen, and Counselors (Ms. Jenny, Ms. Nadrina, and Mr. Gabe) will offer helpful suggestions to ensure your child is emotionally, socially, and academically successful at school. There will also be plenty of time for questions.
The next Parent University session will be held on Thursday, December 8 at 8:20 am. The topic of this presentation is “Teaching Children How to Deal with Conflict.” During this session we will discuss how we can teach students how to effectively handle conflict resolution and share effective strategies to positively resolve disputes with others.
The next two Parent University sessions are scheduled for Thursday, January 31 and Thursday, May 11. The topics of these presentations are currently being determined. All Parent University presentations are relevant subjects and common problems or issues that our students and/or parents are experiencing (e.g., Cybersafety, Easing the Transition from Elementary to Middle School, How to Teach Your Child Self-Advocating Skills, etc.)
We hope you can join us for these informative presentations! You will receive texts, emails, and detailed information in our school newsletters, as well as receiving additional reminders from your child’s teacher for more information about these upcoming events.
