Ms. Lauren's April 20-24th Breakdown

Here is the breakdown for each day during next week!  It lists what we will cover on Zoom and what your kid should do each night for homework.  All homework and tests next week will be due on Monday, April 27th at 8 PM; however, I would suggest that your students do a little bit of work each night.

I will be posting homework on the website this weekend and it will open on Sunday night at 8:01 PM.  There will be printable versions in the folders called Math and Language Arts (printables) or they can do it online under the title Math and Language Arts HW - week of 4/20.

Kindness Activity posted on Google Classroom

Students will perform the following Kindness Activity during the week - Write a note or call a family member you have not seen for a while. They may do this activity more than once during the week, and they may contact more than one family member.

At the end of the week or once they have completed the Kindness Activity, they will write a journal entry on what they did, how it made them feel, and if they talked to the person they reached out to how did it make that person feel. They can also include in their journal entry anything else they would like to share including a picture of them doing the activity or a picture of the person they reached out to.

Spelling Tests Upload

Hello families.

You can upload a picture of the Spelling Tests directly on Google Classroom under the assignment titled Spelling Tests Go Here! Or you can also email me a picture of your student's test.  Please make sure they have a piece of paper and pencil to take the test on today!

StudentMaterialPick-Up

Hello families. Here is the schedule for pickup of materials.  Please check your emails - I made a list of what your students should have you get from their desk.  I will also send out a map of the classroom so you know which seat is your child's.  Please find a way to go pick up the consumables this week so that we can make learning online easier. Thank you again for all of your help and patience as we work through this new learning experience! We are all in this together!

Homework for Week of 4/13 to 4/17

Hello families. The homework for both Math and ELA for this week have been posted on Google Classroom and will be available to edit starting tomorrow. If you would prefer to have the students do their work on paper you can send me a photo of what they did. If you need help accessing the assignments, please let me know and don't be afraid to ask for help finding them during our parent conferences. I also have provided a schedule for both of how the kids should do the pages so they do a little each day.

parent teacher conference schedule

Here is the schedule for parent teacher conferences this week that I emailed out today, 4/12. I am going to send out the Zoom codes via email.  Please let me know if you can make the time that is planned for you. If you need to reschedule, email me.

Reminders for the week of 4/12-4/17

Hello families. I hope you are enjoying the weekend.  I have noticed that there are several students who have assignments to do on Google Classroom, and they are due tomorrow. Please if you can make sure that your student is completing all of their work.  Also, if your student has not joined Ms. Mathilde’s Art class on Google Classroom they should use the following code and do so soon - 2tebllo.  There is an assignment for them to do, which is due on Friday, April 17th. Ms. Mathilde will probably go over the assignment with them when she sees them on Tuesday of this week.

I will be sending out the individualized schedules hopefully by tomorrow night. If I do not finish them, I will resend out the original schedule I sent out to everyone so you can use that for now. Also, parents please remember this week we are supposed to have parent conferences during your child’s Zoom time. I know that many of you have other kids and obligations to attend to and am willing to work with you if we need to reschedule a meeting or answer questions via email – please just reach out to me and we will work something out. The parent conference will last about twenty minutes and be a time for you to ask questions about your child’s last report card or what we are currently doing.

Thank you again for your patience and help. I am so proud of the work my students have already accomplished through online learning and am excited to see what we can do with a whole week of online learning in front of us!

If you need this in Spanish, please let me know and once I have gotten it translated I will forward it to you!

The Mysterious Tadpole (story)

Here is the story The Mysterious Tadpole. This is the story we are reading in class during this week and they will have a comprehension test on it this weekend. They may use the story to help them answer the questions on the test.  The test will be on Google Classroom for many of you, but if you would like your student to take it on ThinkCentral let me know and I will assign it that way (I know one family said it can be on ThinkCentral). I will open the Language Arts tests on Friday and they will be due by Monday evening.
