Grading update: We have a rough plan on what grading could potentially look like for this fourth quarter. When the plan gets finalized, I will share it with you, but there is one part I would like to highlight. More than likely, about 40% of student grades will come from attending and participating in Zoom classes. To get points for the day, students should answer when I call on them. Ideally all students should keep their videos turned on so that I can see that they are in class. If their video is not on, students should still make sure to be answering questions in the chat when I ask them to, and taking their microphone off mute to answer when I call on them. If students cannot attend Zoom lesson for whatever reason, please send me an email after class is over and let me know.

Thank you so much to every student who joined the lesson yesterday, it was a very impressive percentage of our class and I was very pleased and happy to see you all! Today we will be going through lesson 10.1 of Math together, and the students will have an assignment to go through on ThinkCentral for that. We will also explore a little of TCI Social Studies, and students will do a small portion of that as well.

 

Today's assignment:

 

10.1 on ThinkCentral. This is due tomorrow, 4/10/20

TCI Social Studies, Section 1-Section 3, Including the "Notebook Section 3 The First Amendment."

Today the students have a writing assignment on ThinkCentral. Students should login to their ThinkCentral account and click on MyLibrary. There they will find their assignment that is due by tomorrow. IT is related to the Birchbark House so students should reread that text first. Great job to those students who logged in to the Zoom call. We had 20/26 students, so that is fantastic for the first day. Please make sure to join the Zoom call every morning Monday-Friday at 9AM so you don't miss instruction.

Good morning,

 

Hopefully you have all read the latest update on the school website, if you have not read it please take the time to do so. The latest information is looking like live instruction will resume April 6th, and will most likely be online. Schedule changes will push the end of the school year to June 23rd rather than June 11th. For now we will continue with the work packet that I sent home with students and I will update you all further as soon as I have more information. I miss all of my students and hope that you are all safe and keeping a positive attitude during this time. I hope things will return back to normal very soon and we can get back to learning together in our classroom.
