Week of February 27th

Good morning,

This week in Language Arts we are working on asking and answering questions, unstressed syllables, transitions, central idea, and author's craft. In Math we are finishing Chapter 6, students are taking the chapter 6 test today. We are starting Chapter 7 tomorrow; Chapter 7 is about Multiplying and Dividing fractions.

In Social Studies we are beginning a lesson on the first English Settlements in the New World.

World's Finest Chocolate sales are over, all money is due tomorrow, February 28th. Permission slips for the 5th grade field trip went out last week. We have a lot of volunteers for parent chaperones, and I am very grateful about that. I will let chaperones know by the end of this week- I have to confer with the other 5th grade teachers to see how many parent volunteers we have, and how many we can take. If you are waiting to hear from me, thank you so much for your patience.

I will be absent from school next week, Monday-Wednesday, but the class will be in very capable hands with Ms. Giselle. They will still be learning as normal.

Parent volunteers are requested tomorrow after school (February 28th) for help decorating hallways for Literacy Month.
