Week of 12/5

Good morning,

This week, we will be working on recognizing the central theme, final stable -al, -el, -le, and -il. We will be working on asking and answering questions, identifying the claim in a persuasive text, and identifying the purpose of hyperbole, stereotyping, and anecdote. This week in math we are continuing to work on multiplying decimal, including multiplying money. Students will take the mid-chapter quiz tomorrow in class. If students need extra help, all of the skills for this week are starred on IXL.

We are finishing up Chapter 4 of Social Studies, students are taking the test today. The test is in Google Classroom, so if your student is absent today, that is where they can find it when they come back to school.

We will be working this week on our Let's Go Learn tests. It's important for students to try as hard as they can on these tests so we can see their progress.

The day before students go on Winter Break I was planning on having a hot chocolate party with them. Students absolutely do not have to bring anything, but if you would like to donate items for the hot chocolate party, I have a sign up sheet in a Google doc. Please let me know if you would like me to share that with you so that you can sign up. I do need all donations by December 20th so I can purchase anything else that we still need. We have many food allergies in class, so please make sure if you are going to bring something it is on the list or checked with me forst to make sure all of our students are safe.
