Week of 11/28

I hope everybody had a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday. This week we are starting Chapter 4 in Math. Chapter 4 is about Multiplying Decimals. It's important that students are confident with their multiplication for this lesson to be successful for them. We will finish this chapter and take the test before the Winter Break.

Yesterday we started a chapter in Social Studies about European Exploration. We are learning how and why explorers came to the New World, and what they brought with them.

In Language Arts this week we are continuing the unit on Westward Expansion. Students will be working on summarizing texts, identifying literary elements in a text, the VV syllable pattern, multiple meaning words, the prefixes mis- mal- and suffixes -ible, -able, and point of view.

We will be working over the next three weeks on the next round of Let's Go Learn testing. I have reminded students that it is important to try their hardest on these tests so we can see how much they have improved from the Fall.
