My name is Mrs. Aishan Lu Yokoo. I have taught second grade, first grade and third grade for a total of 14 years. Some exciting news, my eight year old is in third grade here at KEY! Time flies and new wonderful memories are being made! I am happy to be back with the opportunity to work with all the teachers, students, and parents at such a great and flourishing environment like KEY Academy! I am the testing coordinator/teacher support this year. I look forward to a great year! One very important thing I would like to stress is attendance, if students are in school, then they are given the chance to learn, but if they are not present then they have missed out on an opportunity to learn and grow. I know the struggles in getting a child to school, but it will only benefit them and that is what we want, the best for our child. I will look forward to and expect lots of hard work and dedication from teachers, students, and parents, because with everyone's participation we will have a successful year!

COVID-19 Letter update

Dear Parents,

During a time of concern and lots of unknowns, I want to let you know KEY is here to support you! I hope everybody is staying safe and working hard to get work done. Dear Parents and Students,

It has been a really great pleasure having all of you this year! I have had lots of fun and made wonderful memories this school year. I hope you all have an enjoyable summer, but remember to practice IXL, Letsgolearn, and any books that were taken home from school that was not finished. (One book you should be working on is your Close Reader to practice reading, reading comprehension, and writing.)

Event Updates:

1. Black Diamond Regional Park fieldtrip on April 19th, we will be riding a bus, please bring lunch, have students wear comfortable clothes, walking shoes, and sunscreen.

2.KEY Academy Annual Walk-a-Thon on April 20th, students will be collecting donations for our fundraiser. Please assist students if needed to help collect donations and volunteers to help out during our Walk-a-Thon is needed too. Please see me if you would like to help out for the day or would like to make a donation towards our Walk-a-Thon. It is a fun day for the students, but it is also a day to take pride in helping out our great school become even greater!

Book Poster/Book Parade

Dear Parents,

Please make sure book posters are being worked on at home, posters are due Thursday or Friday morning of this week. Our book parade is on Friday March 23rd and will start at 9:15am on blacktop or in cafeteria if it is raining.

*Parent conferences are next week Wednesday and Thursday from 1:30pm-4:30pm. Sign up time sheet will be posted outside my door tomorrow.

*Look out for spring break packets given out next week, if your child leaves before the last day before spring break come and see me. Also, students can practice in IXL.com over break. Students have assignments for IXL.
