Friday, March 23rd, Key Academy Charter School participated in its annual Book Parade. Students were asked to complete a Book Report, and put the finally project on the posterboard. Friday was the big reveal, where they walked around the campus showing off their book report. We had a wonderful turnout, of parents, teachers, staff members, and family members. I was thoroughly impressed with the amount of students that participated. Iβm also extremely grateful to all of the parents that came out, and to the parents that helped their kids make amazing π book π reports. Thank you π for your hard work and dedication, it doesnβt go unnoticed!

00:32 π¦ Ice Cream Experiment π¨
ππΎ Hello parents and students,
Uploaded Mar 17, 2018
Well, Iβm sure youβve heard about our amazing day making π¦ ice cream.π¨ Let me start out by saying we had a great time! We were lucky enough to have two great parent volunteers. They absolutely saved the day! π
Our Learning Objective for this activity was to integrate Math and Science! The students gained a better understanding of measuring ingredients using fractions, we used 1/2 cup, 1 1/2 cups, 1/8 tsp, etc. We also discussed the very obvious science aspect of this experiment. Water has three different forms: solid, liquid and gas. By adding salt to the ice, it lowered the freezing temperature and we were able to change our milk liquid into a solid!
Although we shook the bags too long, we still had a ton of fun! It was definitely a learning experience for all of us! Myself included! Thank you to all of the parents who donated materials for our experiment today!
Please enjoy your time off! Iβll be posting throughout the weekend so check back soon! Donβt forget spirit week is this next coming week! Come in your pjβs. Also, please donβt forget your π book report is due on Thursday, then Iβd like you to dress-up as your favorite character for Book Parade on Friday. Please donβt hesitate to reach out to ask questions. If you have any questions or concerns.
