Welcome back to KEY Academy Charter. I am Ms. Somsak (some- sock) your Science & 8A Social Studies teacher. This year’s rigorous content is to prepare students for high school, college, career, and beyond. The curriculum for the upcoming school year will be through TCI. We will take 3 CAASPP tests: English, Math, & Science. For students to optimize their experience at KEY I encourage 100% attendance, meaningful participation, and communication. 

COMMUNICATION:

Remind App to communicate with guardians about, HW, announcements, and trips.

CAASPP State Tests:

• ELPAC -EL students
• CAASPP- ELA
• CAASPP- CAST- Science
• Late work may be accepted with points deducted.

Field trips & Events:

• 2 school class trips
• 8th grade Great America
• High School tours 
• 7th/8th grade dance
• Graduation
• Students’ behavior will determine students’ participation

GRADING:

• 40% Assessments/Essay/Papers/Project
• 30%    Classwork
• 15% Homework 
• 15% Participation
• Late work may be accepted with points deducted.
• No assignments will be accepted after the end of the quarter.
