Hello! My name is Lauren Dascole. I am excited to be returning to KEY Academy this year! I will be teaching sixth grade this year. I am looking forward to getting to know my students and their families this year. While this is my sixth year teaching at KEY, this is my fourteenth overall year teaching. I have taught all grades from 1st to 6th. I thoroughly enjoy teaching and helping my students achieve their dreams and academic success. Some fun facts about me: I love the New York Mets, the Golden State Warriors and anything Disney. In my spare time, I enjoy watching movies, bowling and hanging out with family and friends.

Homework for Week of 4/13 to 4/17

Hello families. The homework for both Math and ELA for this week have been posted on Google Classroom and will be available to edit starting tomorrow. If you would prefer to have the students do their work on paper you can send me a photo of what they did. If you need help accessing the assignments, please let me know and don't be afraid to ask for help finding them during our parent conferences. I also have provided a schedule for both of how the kids should do the pages so they do a little each day.

parent teacher conference schedule

Here is the schedule for parent teacher conferences this week that I emailed out today, 4/12. I am going to send out the Zoom codes via email.  Please let me know if you can make the time that is planned for you. If you need to reschedule, email me.

Reminders for the week of 4/12-4/17

Hello families. I hope you are enjoying the weekend.  I have noticed that there are several students who have assignments to do on Google Classroom, and they are due tomorrow. Please if you can make sure that your student is completing all of their work.  Also, if your student has not joined Ms. Mathilde’s Art class on Google Classroom they should use the following code and do so soon - 2tebllo.  There is an assignment for them to do, which is due on Friday, April 17th. Ms. Mathilde will probably go over the assignment with them when she sees them on Tuesday of this week.

I will be sending out the individualized schedules hopefully by tomorrow night. If I do not finish them, I will resend out the original schedule I sent out to everyone so you can use that for now. Also, parents please remember this week we are supposed to have parent conferences during your child’s Zoom time. I know that many of you have other kids and obligations to attend to and am willing to work with you if we need to reschedule a meeting or answer questions via email – please just reach out to me and we will work something out. The parent conference will last about twenty minutes and be a time for you to ask questions about your child’s last report card or what we are currently doing.

Thank you again for your patience and help. I am so proud of the work my students have already accomplished through online learning and am excited to see what we can do with a whole week of online learning in front of us!

If you need this in Spanish, please let me know and once I have gotten it translated I will forward it to you!

The Mysterious Tadpole (story)

Here is the story The Mysterious Tadpole. This is the story we are reading in class during this week and they will have a comprehension test on it this weekend. They may use the story to help them answer the questions on the test.  The test will be on Google Classroom for many of you, but if you would like your student to take it on ThinkCentral let me know and I will assign it that way (I know one family said it can be on ThinkCentral). I will open the Language Arts tests on Friday and they will be due by Monday evening.
