Ms. Nadrina » Welcome

Welcome

Hello,
My name is Ms. Nadrina, I am one of the school counselors this year at Key Academy, I will be working with the K-5 students this year. This is my first year at Key Academy and I am very excited to begin meeting and working with students. I was born and raised in Los Angeles, I left LA to attend college in Louisiana and returned to California after 2 years. I attended UCSD where I received my BA in psychology. I also have my MA in School Counseling with a specialization in Marriage and Family Therapy.

I have worked in a school setting for 30 years. My first job within an educational setting was at the California Youth Authority as a teaching assistant. At CYA I helped students to improve their English, reading and math skills. My next job within education was in Head Start at Sacramento Unified School District. At SCUSD I assisted low-income families with community resources, assisted the students during class, and assisted the nurses with home health visits. Upon leaving Head Start, I worked at the California School for the Blind as a residential counselor where I taught independent living skills to blind and visually impaired students. I also worked at Fremont Unified as an Elementary Resource Para-Educator. In resource I assisted students with small and large group instruction. Last year I worked in the Castro Valley Unified School District as a school counseling intern. At CVUSD I offered students individual and group counseling.

I love to travel, craft, and read. I love reading and watching regency era fiction. I also like to read and watch murder mysteries.
