2021-2022 School Year
KEY Academy will begin the 21-22 school year with full-day instruction for all grade levels, five days per week. Students and staff are required to wear masks (unless given a medical exemption is provided) and
STUDENT AT COMPUTER
take a weekly COVID test. Staff and students are encouraged to bring their own face masks. If needed, a mask will be available in the Main Office.

Prior to coming to school, students, with parent/guardian oversight, should complete a symptom self-assessment each day.

Students with a fever of 100.4 or higher or any COVID-19 symptoms, including chills, cough, shortness of breath, sore throat, muscle or body aches, the new loss of smell/taste, vomiting, nausea, or diarrhea must stay home. Should your child exhibit any of these symptoms, please keep them home and consult with your health care provider.

Per CDPH guidelines, we will be limiting nonessential visitors and volunteers.

COVID-19 Safety Plan

Once in-person instruction is allowed, KEY Academy will use a phased-in approach until its safe to open 100% in-person instruction. On January 14, 2021, CDPH issued new guidance for safely reopening K-12 Schools for in-person instruction. As of January 14, 202, Schools can open for in-person when the county as has reached a "Red" tier. Since Alameda county reached a "Red" tier in March 2021, we are entering Phase 2 of our plan on April 2, 2021.

KEY Academy has revised its COVID-19 Prevention Program to align to current Cal/OSHA guidance and also address the School's safe return to in-person instruction and continuity of services as required by the American Rescue Plan (ARP) Act and Interim Final Requirements (IFR).
