Hello Key Academy Community,
I write to introduce myself as the Key Academy Principal at the San Leandro campus. I have been working with Key Academy at the Hayward Campus since our founding year (2013), and I am thrilled to be given the opportunity to work with the variety of students, staff, and families at the San Leandro Campus.
Students need to leave grades kindergarten through eighth with a firm grounding in reading, writing, grammar, math, science, and critical thinking if they are to succeed in high school. Our job at Key Academy is to ensure every child is ready for his or her next step in education, be it a new grade level or moving on to high school and eventually college. Along the way, your child(ren) will encounter a variety of individuals who work on staff to learn from, and our staff will learn from your child(ren) as well – the give and take will go both ways.
As for myself, I graduated St. Mary’s College of Maryland in 2011 with a major in Environmental Communications, and again graduated St. Mary’s College in 2013 with a Master’s of Art in Teaching. Previously, I have taught English abroad in The Gambia, West Africa, at the eighth grade level, and was the seventh (2013, 2014, 2015) and eighth grade (2013) teacher at KEY Academy. Additionally, I have taught eighth grade at Spring Ridge Middle School in St. Mary’s County Maryland, as well as twelfth grade English at Leonardtown High School in Leonardtown Maryland. Outside of education, I am an Eagle Scout, windsurfer, surfer, and the first born of my other two siblings.
Additionally, I look forward to getting to know you. Quality education begins and ends at home, and you are our number-one ally. Please do not hesitate to contact me at the school or via email firstname.lastname@example.org when or if you have any questions.
Through hard work and dedication this is going to be an excellent year!
Thank you in advance for your support,
William Eaton (Principal Will)
