About the School Counselor

My name is Ms. Jenny and I am excited to be apart of KEY as the school counselor, serving TK-5th.

 

As the school counselor, I am committed to equip each student with the necessary skills needed to help them succeed throughout their educational experience and life. I wish to prepare the whole child for the challenges and opportunities of today and tomorrow and ensure that each student is healthy, safe, engaged, and supported.

 

 

During the school year, I will be offering social-emotional and academic counseling, consulting and collaborating with parents/families and sharing resources.

• Classroom Guidance Lessons
• Crisis Support
• Conflict Mediation
• Parent/Teacher Collaboration
• Community Resource

Referrals

 

I will be available to meet with students for any social emotional or academic concern. Some of the subjects that may come up include:

• Bullying and Cyberbullying
• Goal setting/organization/time management
• Behavioral management
• Stress management
• Self-esteem/body image
• Friendships/relationships
• Problem solving
• Divorce/separation
• Self-Harm
• Grief and loss 

 

 

Students can request to see the counselor for individual counseling at any time.

Referrals may be made through staff, parents, or peers. Referral forms are found in the Main Office.

Parents are welcome to contact the counselor to discuss concerns regarding their child.
